Philippines: The NED, the NGOs and the CIA

Here in the Philippines, the so-called restoration of freedom saw the popping out like mushrooms of local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with the newly-created CIA front called “NED” leading in guiding the government it installed to power. The CIA too had to shed off some of its covert activities by making itself “transparent.”

Pierre Omidyar Co-funded Ukraine Revolution Groups With US Government, Documents Show

"New Citizen, along with the rest of Rybachuk’s interlocking network of western-backed NGOs and campaigns— “Center UA” (also spelled “Centre UA”), “Chesno,” and “Stop Censorship” to name a few — grew their power by targeting pro-Yanukovych politicians with a well-coordinated anti-corruption campaign that built its strength in Ukraine’s regions, before massing in Kiev last autumn."

WATCH: ‘Democracy Projects’ Are Not Democratic: The Case of Ukraine & Russia

"The recent gaffe of Victoria Nuland being caught using her post in the U.S. State Department to push a self-proclaimed neo-Nazi into the presidency of Ukraine reveals a far more contemptible role being played by leading transatlantic forces, desperate to bring Eurasia under its control for its own political/economic survival."

Greenbacks for Blue Buckets: USAID Support for Instability in Russia

"It was not until September 2012, over two years after USAID was linked to the Blue Buckets, that President Vladimir Putin ordered USAID out of Russia. Some 57 NGOs in Russia were said to receive official financial support from USAID. That number did not count the unofficial support rendered by USAID to other groups, some with close links to terrorist groups in the Russian Caucasus region, particularly Chechnya and Dagestan."

Emasculation of the African with Awards, Grants and Prizes

"In addition to mercenary individuals and co-opted regional organizations, the west uses its own national agencies as well as international “NGOs” such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Committee for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ), the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and other related organizations, as well as the UN’s tentacle organizations such as the World Food Organization (WFO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB), various policy crafting think tanks, foundations etc. to advance foreign policy agendas vis-a-vis Africa, Asia and the Middle East."

REFLECTION: APRIL 11, 2002 | Venezuela: Coup and Countercoup, Revolution

"The NED quadrupled its funding to Venezuelan groups, such as Fedecamaras and the CTV labor federation, along with a series of NGOs plotting Chavez’s ouster. A State Department cable from the first week of March 2002 claimed « Another piece falls in to place » and applauded the opposition’s efforts to finally create a plan for a transitional government...These events changed Venezuela forever and awoke the consciousness of many who had underestimated the importance and vulnerability of their Revolution."

Capital-driven Civil Society

"Overemphasis in Leftist literature on aggressive aspects of imperialism (waged through both overt and covert military, economic, and diplomatic domination) has unfortunately meant that little attention has been paid to the equally important ‘friendly face’ of imperialism. Thus, when combined with the near total media blackout of critical analyses of elite funding of progressive groups, it is little wonder that there is minimal discussion of this phenomenon."

Capitalising On Nonviolence

"Massive displays of nonviolent resistance have always been an essential component to challenging oppression successfully. One can only hope that Western citizens will learn from contemporary history and rise up to overthrow the ultra-violent warmongers who manage their countries too, mindful of the fact that nonviolent liberal institutions are routinely complicit in the brutality of the systems they ostensibly criticize."
