The War on Libya – There Was No Evidence

The Humanitarian Industry: A “Force Multiplier” for Imperialism

"The most illuminating characterization of the humanitarian aid industry was made by none other than US Secretary of State Colin Powell, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs. According to the authors, in 2001 Powell stated, “Just as surely as our diplomats and military, American NGOs are out there serving and sacrificing on the front lines of freedom… NGOs are such a force multiplier for us, such an important part of our combat team” in Afghanistan."

Libya’s Hell, Enabled by Canadian Humanitarians

"What is so infuriating in the history of this hideous "mission" is the complete lack of remorse or shame at what has been "accomplished." Just like Iraq and Afghanistan, there are no regrets: Imperialism -- especially "humanitarian imperialism" -- will never admit to its crimes."

Avaaz: Imperialist Pimps of Militarism, Protectors of the Oligarchy, Trusted Facilitators of War | Part VI

"For Avaaz, and indeed for the non-profit industrial complex as a whole, the psychological elements within strategic campaigns are the key vital components if "movements" are to successfully manage, and thus control, entire societies. Avaaz, at the top of a hierarchy of sister organizations, is able, with very little risk, to test what campaigns are politically palatable and what trends then develop within the consciousness of the selected members/participants."

Welcome to the Brave New World – Brought to You by Avaaz

"Perriello no doubt believes in the myth of American exceptionalism. His patriotic views are reinforced by like-minded individuals from the Bush administration, the Obama administration, and the scores of organizations who "understand" the "need" to expand America's "democracy" and "economic prosperity" around the globe. And while these myths are pushed forward by Imperialist administrations, the non-profit industrial complex and corporate media, civil rights in America – and now Syria – are being stripped away faster than you can say fascism."

AVAAZ, Libya & Syria: The Art of War

"Today, Libya is absolutely destroyed and in deep turmoil. Yet, two years later, Avaaz continues to push for the same in Syria - that of a no fly zone and the implementation of the Responsibility to Protect doctrine by the United Nations. Few would be surprised, if only they knew, that a key founder of Avaaz is none other than pro-war Tom Perriello - a former U.S. Representative (represented the 5th District of Virginia from 2008 to 2010) and a founding member of the House Majority Leader’s National Security Working Group. Perriello's curriculum vitae, built upon privilege within elite circles, is extensive."

The “Arab Spring” and the Seduction of the Western Left

"Seduction is not rape. It needs the complicity of its victim. It needs the victim to want to be seduced. Indeed, it is the victim that dictates the terms on which the seduction will take place. The Arab Spring appeared on our corporate TV screens as it did, because this was how the Western Left wanted to be seduced."

“Doctors” Behind Syrian Chemical Weapons Claims are Aiding Terrorists

"To begin with, Doctors Without Borders is fully funded by the very same corporate financier interests behind Wall Street and London’s collective foreign policy, including regime change in Syria and neighboring Iran. Doctors Without Borders’ own annual report (2010 report can be accessed here), includes as financial donors, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Google, Microsoft, Bloomberg, Mitt Romney’s Bain Capital, and a myriad of other corporate-financier interests."

Urgent Appeal from The African Revolutionary Movement on Behalf of Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim

Two days ago, the US-NATO installed regime in Libya sentenced the respected academic and political philosopher, Dr Ahmed Ibrahim to death by firing squad. Dr Ibrahim was once Secretary for Education, and is a Qaddafi loyalist. He has written extensively on the Jamahiriyan ideology or what is known as the Third Universal Theory. Ahmed Ibrahim is a staunch Pan-Africanist and a courageous freedom fighter who, rather than fleeing the Libyan Jamahiriya during the brutal and barbaric assault on his country, stood his ground in the heroic defense of Sirte alongside the revolutionary forces and people, and was later captured by an Al Qaeda linked militia."

The Empire’s New Clothes: The Naked Imperialism of Humanitarian Intervention

The U.S. imperial juggernaut attempts to bamboozle its home audience with the fiction that its war against Syria is a “humanitarian” venture. “The immediate priority for anti-war, anti-imperialist, human rights activists in the U.S. is to strip away the moral pretext of humanitarian intervention and expose its ugly, imperialist reality.”

The Left vs. the Liberal Media

“Media Lens has indeed spent more time analyzing the liberal media than right-wing outlets. Why? Because the liberal media is often regarded as the outlets where the most progressive and the most challenging views can be seen and heard. If you like, it’s one end of the acceptable spectrum of news and views. But if even here there are severe limits on permissible challenges to state-corporate power, what does that say about society generally? It’s like a litmus test for dissent.”
