The top two uses of Tar Sands refined bitumen are: gasoline and jet fuel. Yet, I have yet to hear 350, Bill McKibben, James Hansen or the rest of the professional Climate “Movement” call for a moratorium on jet travel and a huge reduction in Consumption across-the-board; much less being good models and stopping flying the planet on Wings of Tar Sands, themselves."

“If we do not change course soon, we may end up where we are headed.” Saw a variation of that on a climate analysis article recently. It’s apt, but while we need to point out that this is true of science it is also true of our own social organization. We have been also expert at denial when it comes to our own internal practice. Now is the time for sober assessment.
"National climate groups celebrated Obama's decision to delay the northern segment of KXL, intentionally overlooking that this supposed "win" was paired with an endorsement to fast track the southern arm of KXL, connecting a preexisting tar sands pipeline that ended in Oklahoma to refining communities and shipping ports in Texas. There was no delay for us--pipe was being put in the ground. In search of a "win," the people of KXL south were written off as a loss."
